I went to the Gallery, but the Bluetooth option does not come up. How do I get that to show up?

First, make sure that you are using the native gallery that comes pre-installed with your Galaxy S4. If you are using a different "multi-media viewing" application, tapping on the Menu will show the list of possible actions and sharing via Bluetooth is one of them.

Also, you need to tap on the photo to see the Bluetooth sharing option. If you are viewing the gallery, i.e, see a bunch of photos showing, then tap on the photo that you want to share to see the option for Bluetooth sharing.

One more thing: You may be viewing through the File explorer; if this is the case, then press and hold on the picture that you want to save and tap on the "Share via" option. From the list of available options, Bluetooth is there; tap on it to start sharing the chosen picture, music or video.

You can get the blue tooth symbol or option to appear by doing the following steps below:

1. Go to your gallery

2. Tap on the picture you are wanting to view

3. Tap on the picture once more and locate the < sign which will be located on the top of the screen

4. Tap on this option and then a menu will appear with the option to send the file through Bluetooth.

I am finding it difficult sending songs via Bluetooth, the phone will forever scan for nearby devices but find no close devices at all. sending pictures is not a problem?

If you are sure that you have paired your S4 with other devices, and that you have followed the procedures on Send Files Wirelessly Using Bluetooth on Samsung Galaxy S4, then the issue is with your music file. Just proceed with the next music file that you want to send as the previously chosen music is protected from being shared. Some music files are not allowed to be shared due to intellectual property issues. If you experience this, you can Transfer Files from Samsung Galaxy S4 to PC and Vice Versa then from the PC, transfer the file to another phone.

Sending from the phone to my PC works fine. Sending the other way does not work?

Sending from the phone to my PC works fine. Sending the other way does not work. The pc searches for "active services" on the S4 and finds none. It then stops attempting the file transfer. Strange. The phone has no notifications of incoming files.

Was this helpful? Yes | No | I need help

You have to check from your phone whether you have actually activated the function that allows for transfer of files from your PC. Normally, this gets deactivated automatically when the versions of your S4 and computer are not compatible anymore.

Also, from your PC`s side, check whether you still have the software/driver for your S4 installed. If not, that is more likely the cause for it not to recognize it.
