Samsung Galaxy Gear is one of Samsung's best gadgets for 2013. This article will discuss how to connect Galaxy Gear to your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to be able to start maximizing the benefits of these two awesome gadgets.
Manually Connect Galaxy Gear to Samsung Note 3
The following procedures will allow you to manually connect your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Galaxy Gear:
- 1Turn on your Galaxy Gear.
To turn on your device, press and hold the Power/Home key until Galaxy Gear's screen turns on. The Power/Home key is located on the upper part of the side of the Galaxy Gear.2Go to your Galaxy Note 3's home screen.

The Gear Manager will allow you to connect you Note 3 to your Galaxy Gear. To open it, tap on the icon that resembles a watch on the app list. This will automatically turn on your Bluetooth radio and will start scanning for devices that have Bluetooth on.6Tap on OK.
The application will inform you to make sure that the Galaxy Gear is on setup wizard. Make sure that this is being complied to.7Tap on Galaxy Gear on the available devices.
After scanning, your Galaxy Note 3 will display a list of paired and available devices. If you have not yet paired the Galaxy Gear to your Note 3, the device will show on the "Available devices" section. Tap on the device name to start pairing your Note 3 and Galaxy Gear.8Confirm the pairing request.
On your Note 3, tap on "OK" when prompted with the Bluetooth pairing request. On your Galaxy Gear, tap on the check mark to confirm the passkey.9Agree with the license agreement.
Once your devices get connected, you will be taken to the "End user license agreement". Make sure to carefully read the agreement and tap on the corresponding check boxes to acknowledge that you have read and understood, and agree to all the terms and conditions on the agreements. You can also to opt to provide Samsung the error log data from any Software Update failure by ticking on "Yes", or "No thanks".10Tap on "Finish".
Once you have completely read and agreed to the terms and conditions on the license agreements, you can tap on the "Finish" button on the lower-right part of your Note 3's screen to proceed to the main screen of Gear Manager.11Manual setup complete.

Automatically Connect Galaxy Gear to Samsung Note 3
The following procedures will allow you to automatically connect your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with the Galaxy Gear:
- 1Enable the NFC feature of your Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
You can start enabling it by going to the Home menu. You can get to the Home menu by pressing the "Back" key a few times until it takes you to the Home menu, or by pressing on the "Home" key once.2Go to "Settings".
There are a lot of ways of going to Settings, but for now we will tap on the "Menu" button (lower-left soft key), and tap on "Settings" to open it.3Open the NFC page.
From the Settings menu, go to the "Connect and Share" section. Look for NFC and tap on it to open the NFC page.4Turn on NFC.
You can turn on NFC for your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 by tapping on the switch button on the upper-right part of the NFC page. Make sure that it is set toON and is colored green.5Connect to Galaxy Gear.

I don't have a gear manager
If you do not have the Gear Manager application, you can read this in-depth article on how to install galaxy gear manager on your Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Samsung has decided not to put the application in the Play Store. It can only be downloaded from Samsung Apps. You can install one for your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 by going to Home > tap on Apps > open Samsung Apps > search and download Galaxy Gear. My phone is not bringing up the galaxy gear app at the appropriate step in the process?
