EditQuestions and Answers

My phone keeps on saying that calibration has failed?

This could be possibly be caused by an uneven surface. It is best to put your phone on a table or floor that is flat and even. To make sure that the surface is even, try to drop a marble or any small round object on it. Do this a few more times and observe. If it is even, then the round object should roll randomly to different sides. If it keeps rolling to a single side, then the surface could be inclined. Also, make sure that the surface is not shaking or moving, as this can distract the calibration process. If the problem continues, try to restart your phone and check if calibration can now be done. You should only seek professional help from a technician if the problem cannot be solved by any of the solutions stated here.

I have properly calibrated the gyroscope, but the game still won't respond to my phone movements?

Not all games support or use the gyroscope. Some racing games do not use the gyroscope to steer the vehicle. Also, check the game settings, as some offer options to use or not use the gyroscope.

Depending on the game you are playing you may need to adjust the settings in the game menu rather than your device. Try to change some of the settings located in your game in order to help improve the movements of the gaming experience.

my phone does not have a gyroscope option

If the phone does not have the Gyroscope option on your options then this means that the phone is not listed to the supported phones that has Gyroscope. The settings is a preset settings to a phone from the day it was being manufacturer. If this feature is not present in the options menu then it is not supported. Please take the consideration also that if your phone is already above the 4.2 version of an Android operating system, this feature has been removed for some reason, which you could no longer use or calibrate it. Gyroscope calibration option missing?

When I go to type in my lockscreen pin, sometimes it misses the number "0" in my pin, so it takes a couple times to log in because I have to retype it usually 3 times. I was hoping to recalibrate the screen but I have no gyroscope calibration option under any settings on my phone. My phone is not rooted; it is stock. Thanks

Yes, this is what happens with the newer version. You don`t find gyroscope calibration under "motions and gestures" anymore. This is also granting the fact that with the newer version, it will be sharper in a way that you won`t have any problem typing in any keys. The touchscreen is supposed to detect your taps faster.

Your device will eventually get used to it and you will avoid having that issue with the number "0".

My S4 has no such option; it only has air gesture, motion, and palm motion

There is only one reason why the Gyroscope is not present on your Samsung Galaxy S4. This is due to the Android firmware that you have installed on your phone. For Samsung Galaxy Phone lines and even to other phone brands. The Gyroscope is no longer an added feature for your your, it is basically being remove for some reason. If you wished to calibrate the phone's touch sensitivity, you do not need to do it manually as the phone will automatically calibrate the sensor on your phone. If you want to have the Gyroscope back on your phone, what you can do is to root the phone to install a 4.2 firmware. But you may not receive any phone official updates and at your own risk.

My s4 running droid 4.4.2 has a fault?

After a short while the auto rotate reverses my camera and web browser . the only way to reset it is to factory reset and after an hour or so the problem is back

If by reverse you mean that the letters appear to have some sort of mirror effect instead of just rotating, it needs to be fixed. You have to send your S4 back to its service center to have it replaced or fixed.
